on the way from the A0 to the A2 variant of GROT. Suffice it to say, the above should, and will be cov- ered in a separate article - there was a lot to cover, and the chang- es step beyond the domain of the breech, firing pin, or the polymers. The Day One was concluded with a debate between the users, de- signers, and the manufacturer. The users were voicing their re- marks and concerns regarding the modifications of the rifle, and the introduction of more mod- els (not in a form of iterations of the baseline gun). The designers and the manufacturer were ex- plaining the "whys", and provided more detail, clarifying the user feedback. In general, numerous constructive remarks were made following day one. It seems probable that the next variant of the GROT assault rifle will have a safety switch sim- ilar to a typical AR, with a 180 de- gree switch. The two-stage trigger will remain, but the profile of the trigger pull is to change. Extra dirt variants of the rifle. The lack of a DMR variant and a LMG/support weapon variant was pointed out in further speeches as well - for instance by Lt. Bartosz Szopek. The later speeches focused on the technicalities, and the user experi- ence and these have been the most interesting part of the conference, seeing the users - both the TDF troops, and the civilians as well - speak up. The civilian speakers used the GROT in tactical training - among them you could find Piotr "Soyers"Sojka, or the author of the present article - sharing their expe- rience and comparing GROT to the AR-15 platform. More importantly, there were no attempts to cut the discussion between the panelists, and the audience short - this concluded day one. Before that happened, speeches had been given by Col. (ret.) Ryszard Woźniak, leading the Grot rifle design team, and Seweryn Figurski, Fabryka Broni Łucznik-Ra- dom member of the board. His speech covered interesting in- sights on the changes happening www.fragoutmag.com
