for the At least three multi-role Leonardo AW149 helicopters have been delivered to the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade by the end of 2023. The first two were received in late October, with the third delivery happening in mid-December. As the Armament Agency pointed out, the delivery of the third example took pla- ce a couple of months ahead of schedule. The deliveries are happening now, with the involvement of an Italian Leonardo plant, as the agreement signed envisages. Ultimately, most of the helicopters are expected to be delivered from WZK PZL Ĺwidnik S.A. - there, the effort has been undertaken to create and launch the final assembly line. The Armament Agency, based on the contract signed on July 1st, 2022, procured 32 helicopters as such in total. They are to be embedded within the structure of the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade, allowing the unit to begin a generational equipment exchange. One cannot rule out a scenario in which this procurement continues, as the Polish Armed Forces express serious requirements when it comes to the replacement of the currently operated mul- ti-role helicopters, not to mention the growing requirements stemming from the fact that the Armed Forces are quantita- tively expanding. Back in December, Poland received the third AW149 helicopter - ahead of the planned schedule. It would be operated by the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade, along with the first two examples.
