Forces are working hand-in-hand with the operational units and the Border Guard, working on the security of the Polish citizens. The WOT branch soldiers' mission is to defend and support the local communities. Their readiness, training and the undertaken actions are a daily testimony to the fact that they manage to successfully accomplish that mission. WOT troops are always ready to act, and always close to their local communities. Strong Heritage Tradition and heritage have been a very important element of the identity of the Territorial Defense Component, since the very beginning of its existence. Last year, our heritage also played an important role for us. In February we celebrated the 81st Anniversary of the establishment of the Home Army (AK), we were paying tribute to the Cursed Soldiers in March, and in September we celebrated the Polish Underground State Day, and Territorial Defense Forces Day, on the same date. However, supporting the Polish veterans and war heroes is a primary focus for us, daily - helping those Poles who fought for the independence and freedom of our country. „Terytorialsi" assists the living veterans and heroes on a daily basis, helping them in daily chores, such as shopping, or simply spending time with them. They also maintain cemeteries and monuments, where the Homeland defenders rest.
