T he EOTech VUDU, family of scopes, debuted several years ago, with the first being the VUDU 1-6x24 LVPO. This scope was characterized by very good, clear optics, relatively compact di- mensions, decent weight, well-designed turrets, and a first focal plane reticle. However, that reticle was the biggest downside making the scope suitable for shooting either against a bright backgro- und with the illumination off or in poorer lighting conditions with it on. The retic- le with an enlarged version of EOTech's „donut of death" that transitioned into a simple BDC at higher magnification, had terrible illumination that did not improve its visibility in good lighting conditions or when shooting against a dark back- ground. It probably worked for hunting, but not for tactical shooting. Fortuna- tely, subsequent versions changed the reticle and also improved its illumination, although it still wasn't spectacular. Only the latest series of scopes have truly ad- dressed this issue, and in the meantime, the VUDU family has grown to include several models: 1-6x24 FFP, 1-8x24 SFP, 1-10x28 FFP, 3.5-18x50 FFP, 3.5-18x50 EOTech EOTech EOTech EOTech VUDU 3-9 VUDU 3-9 comes to Europe comes to Europe STORY BY: B O RYS K U L K A PHOTO: E OT E C H YOU SAY EOTECH, AND – QUITE RIGHTLY – YOU THINK „HOLOSIGHTS."
