ROCK3.0 The outcome? About 85% of the human losses in this war are shrapnel from artillery shells and drone attacks (both FPV and those dropping various types of grenades). The PSO Maskpol, Polish state-owned personal protection equipment company from the PGZ Group, unveiled the new variant of their ROCK se- ries body armor at MSPO 2024. ROCK 3.0 is ba- sed on the experiences and feedback from Ukra- ine. ROCK 3.0 is a fully modular and scalable body armor vest, allowing to adjust the level and area of protection depending on the user's requirements or the expected threats, but the main emphasis in its design has just been placed on protecting the user from shrapnels and frag- ments, drastically increasing both the number of modules with soft armor and protected area. MASKPOL ROCK 3.0 Integrated Body Armor Vest The ROCK 3.0 vest is an evolution of the earlier ROCK, which debuted in 2020. Latest iteration is a modular design in line with current trends. It is based on two plate panels (front and rear) that can accommodate soft and hard ballistic inserts. In the side part, the panels overlap for increased protection surface. The panels are connected with cummerbund, providing a wide range of size adjustment – cum- merbunds are available with side magazine poc- kets or with soft armor inserts. Auxiliary components of ROCK 3.0., increasing the protective surface, are neck, throat, shoulder, lower abdomen and groin panels. The vest with all accessories provides protection of about 1 m 2 of body. In the front part, the vest has a dangler- -type pocket which, after adding a soft armor in- sert, can serve as an underbelly protection. It can be combined with an additional groin protector. On the back panel there are two grommets for attachment of butt pad mat, which is very popu- lar in the East, providing additional protection, but also an insulating pad to sit, for example, on the armor of a vehicle or at the OP. The ROCK 3.0 has a quick-release system based on magnetic buckles that allow the vest to be qu- ickly dropped in several ways. The first is to unfa- sten all the buckles with a single pull, another is to unfasten the two buckles located on the left side of the vest, and to unfasten the individual buckles directly, without using the QR cable sys- tem. Other QR systems are also available as an www.fragoutmag.com
