REPORT D riving down the winding streets of Pawłów on that somewhat sleepy morning, we arri- ved at the shooting range in the middle of a field, like a "tramp steamer" anchored in the roads, and made our way over. Several squads were alre- ady there, all pumped up and ready to rumble. After checking in and slapping some high-fives with fa- miliar range officers, we let out a few impressive whistles at the range setup, which was about to put us through the wringer of the Defcon One. This was the second run of the competition – after the spectacular success of the first, the dynamic duo "Ptaku" (Bird) and "Ocet" (Vinegar), under the watchful eye of "Głowa" (Head), had cooked up another dose of tactical goodness for the die- -hards. They smoothly blended thinking, shooting, healthy competition, and a great time. Seriously, the organization of Defcon One was a new ben- chmark for tactical matches. The shooters confir- med it, but they were so locked in on the stages that they were just raving about how awesome everything was. Maybe the excitement was get- ting to them, but the range officers on each sta- ge, who had a different perspective, also vouched KOBE, FOR BASKETBALL FANS, IS A KOBE BRYANT – THE LEGEN. FOR OTHERS, IT'S A CITY IN JAPAN, ONCE HOME TO SAMURAI. AND FOR SOME, IT'S A TOP-SHELF CUT OF BEEF FROM THE TAJIMA CATTLE BREED (KOBE BEEF).
