Recent weeks have marked
significant advancements for
Lockheed Martin's F‑16C/D Fighting
Falcon Block 70/72 production and
delivery program. Despite operating
in the shadow of the F‑35 Lightning
II, this multi‑role fighter continues
to secure international customers.
Notably, the U.S. aerospace
manufacturer recently presented the
first aircraft destined for its fourth
operator and commenced deliveries
to its third.
Chronologically, the first event was
the official rollout of the aircraft slated
for the program's fourth customer,
Taiwan. This ceremony took place
on March 28th at Lockheed Martin's
Greenville, South Carolina facility,
the home of the final assembly line.
Interestingly, the first Block 70 variant
configured for Taiwan is a two‑seat
F‑16D. Taiwan is now the largest
customer for this advanced standard,
with a 66‑aircraft Letter of Offer and
Acceptance (LOA) through a Foreign
Military Sales (FMS) agreement,
