The Princeton Tec CHARGE PRO flashlight has almost an identical, although like a mirror image design, and it is powered with one CR123 lithium battery which offers better parameters in low temperatures and ensures better compatibility with other various equipment what simplifies logistics. Its disadvantage consists in the fact that despite all, the AA batteries are easier to obtain almost all around the world. Both MPLS CHARGE, and CHARGE PRO are available in three colors of the cover – tan, black and green. All of them are water-proof to the 1 m depth so a long-term exposition for rain should not influence negatively. A flashlight can be mounted directly on the ARC rail and with an adapter to the helmet rim (for helmet with no rails) and to the MOLLE/ PALS strips by additional adapter. Besides, there is also available an additional holder serving to put a lamp on the flexi-strap and using it as a headlamp. Additional mounts were developed for Team Wendy EXFIL helmets recently. IN USE Depending on the applied kind of the battery (a manufacturer suggests using lithium batteries), and external conditions, a work life of the flashlight can be maximally about 50 hours, but only when working with the lowest light power. An estimated work time of the flashlight when a white Maxbright LED diode is turned on is maximally about 4.5 hours or less than 2 hours, if alkaline batteries are used, and when using only Ultrabright LED diodes it is from 22 hours in the High mode) to 45 hours (in the Low mode) when using lithium batteries or from 12 to 50 hours while applying alkali batteries. Depending on the configuration of the supporting diodes, this time may vary. MPLS CHARGE can be installed on either side of the helmets with the ARC rails – in the case of mounting on the right side, a flashlight body www.fragoutmag.com
