the climbing harnesses. The vests were worn most fre- quently with the Polish Lhotse company which were DIY dyed black. The left pouch was for carrying a sleeping bag or a jacket. A so-called "Spaniard" (Spanish infantry small assault pack or Pequeña Mochila De Combate Del Ejercito Español) backpack was attached to the back, for the extended operations. In the front part of the vest there were three pouches for two taped together AK ri- fle magazines, each with opening in the bottom – that allowed for a quicker access to the magazines, faster re- loads and protected against accidental opening during crawling. As a standard, on every vest there was a pouch for the PBS-1 silencer. We do not know why because no- body even saw such the silencer at that time. So, it was nothing to screw it up to, but you know, an idea counts. On the left side was a scabbard for the combat knife and two pouches for smoke bombs. The vest was sewn from the commonly available fabrics materials: black stilon polyester, zippers, pieces of the Velcro – elements available in the local leatherwear store which has operated in Gdynia since 1946. Until now we are customers of this Polish shop… The uniforms were additionally modified and cus- tomized – the standard issue Polish army field uniforms were modded by changing the layout of pockets, adding hoods or liners. The POLAND tabs patches were hand embroidered by mothers and grandmothers. The drop leg platforms and hol- sters home made. The fabric in the Polish pattern 93 camoufalge was the most frequently acquainted from the trashcans of the "Wybrzeże" Disabled Cooperative in Gdynia. The production of these vests was an bedrock of the company, or rather "community" because during at the organizational meeting in November 2004 in the "Cyganeria" restaurant gathered a group of mates with a past in the GD and OPAD teams. Each interested person could add his contribution to this venture, bring his own design and work for the company – a condition which merged the team was branding the final product with SPECOPS logo. First pre-production SPECOPS tactical vest was man- ufactured in March 2005. Its designer lived in Nowy Dwór Gadański, and a tailor in Rumia. In order to get to her, a distance of 77 km one had to overcome firstly by the coach, then by the short-distance train, and finally by theexpress coach. Then it was only 3km march to a destination...
