In training operatios that took place on 6-9th June 2016 following units were involved: Polish BOA hostage rescue unit and multiple Polish SPAP-teams (SWAT units) and various European countries (Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Romania, Hungary, United Kingdom Estonia, and Belgium) units plus GROM SMU operators. The support and security also included police officers of anti-riot units of the Metropolitan Police. Training was led by the BOA. The training officially started on 6th June 2016. The opening ceremony was participated by the Undersecretary of State and the Deputy Commander- in-Chief of the Police. On that day, headquarters were formed that during the conducted simulation were used for i.a. making decisions about distribution of forces and resources. Training included two episodes performed under very realistic conditions. Due to confirmed information about the scale of risk caused by terrorists at the shopping mall of Złote Tarasy, in a skyscraper, and in the subway, as a part of international cooperation, Polish units asked intervention units from other countries for help in force- related solution of the incident. The assumptions of the first stage of the training were the following: terrorists attacked the shopping mall and the nearby skyscraper. They killed and injured many people, took hostages. The police counter-terrorism officers from the BOA and other Polish and foreign counter-terrorism units were ordered to take action.
