Exactly 70 years ago, in Japan, destroyed during the war, the Kashio Seisakujo company was established by one of four Kashio brothers – Tadao. After several years, his company was joined by his other brothers – Kazuo, Toshio and Yukio. Kazuo Kashio is still the president of the company, despite his old age. The name Casio, a transcription of founder's surname in Latin alphabet, officially appeared for the first time in 1957 and it helped memorizing the name of the company outside Japan. In 1983, the first model of Casio G-Shock was introduced – the DW 5000C. It was the product of a team led by Kikuo Ibe, the manager of designers in the watch department of the company. For over three decades, G-Shock watches have been claimed in the market as very resistant, almost invulnerable watches. PRESEnt and oPERational For several months, I have had the pleasure to test one of G-Shock flagships – the Rangeman GW-9400 3RE. The body of the watch is made of high- quality resin with sateen surface that is resistant to scratches and has a pleasant touch. The base of the crown is secured with a metal bottom fixed with four screws. The display of the screen is protected by scratch-resistant glass. www.fragoutmag.com
