According to the information presented by the Bureau for Territorial Defense Force Establishment in 2016, a TD brigade is to be composed of a command, a command team, staff, a command and logistics company, and three to five TD battalions. A TD battalion is to feature the following sub-units: staff, a command and logis- tics company, four to five TD companies, a support company, a logistics company, and a section for protection of classified information. A TD command and logistics company would have a command platoon, a platoon for traffic protection and regula- tion, and a logistics platoon. A TD infantry company would consist of a command and reconnaissance squad, two or three infantry platoons, and a support and logis- tics platoon. A battalion support company would be organized in the following way: a command squad, a logistics squad, an anti-tank platoon, a sapper platoon, an anti-aircraft platoon, and a sharpshooter platoon. A logistics company would be composed of a command squad, a logis- tics squad, a logistics platoon, and a med- ical platoon. An infantry squad would be composed of 12 soldiers: ●Ä commander, ●Ä deputy commander, ●●Ä designated marksman, ●●Ä scout, ●●Ä combat engineer, ●●Ä junior combat engineer, ●●Ä paramedic, ●●Ä junior paramedic, ●●Ä radio-operator, ●●Ä junior radio-operator, ●●Ä two riflemen. The WOT are to include mainly light infan- try units. Their weapons will be composed of firearms and crew-served weapons, provided, theoretically, in the amount to let the soldiers be effective in conducting operations supporting own forces or with- in secondary zones of operational action. The firearms willl include 9 mm pistols, 5.56 mm and 7.62 rifles (including DMR), 40 mm under-barrel and stand-alone gre- nade launchers, and crew-served weapons – 7.62 mm GPMG. The weapons used for anti-tank and squad (section) support are to be initially RPG-7, to be replaced with a new type thereof in a few years – analyt- ical-conceptual works concerning acquir- ing a portable revolver-type MLGS with dedicated ammunition have commenced this year. According to the information obtained from the WOT commander in November 2016, a company support pla- toon will have 7.62 mm, 8.6 mm, and 12.7 mm sniper carbines and 60 mm mortars. Territorial forces will be also equipped with heavy machine guns, ATGM's, anti-aircraft artillery and gun+missile systems, and man-portable air-defense systems. According to both official and unofficial sources, WOT will have 9 mm PR-15 Ragun pistols, Beryl and mini-Beryl rifles, GPBO-40 under-barrel and GSBO-40 st- nad-alone grenade launchers, Bor sniper rifles and Tor long range rifles. WOT sol- diers will also have SCT Rubin-M thermal sights, PCS-5/1(M) Gabro night vision sights, MU-3AM and MU-3ADM Koliber night vision goggles and NPL-1M Brom-M night vision binoculars. www.fragoutmag.com
