Plecak ALICE LARGE w kolorystyce camouflage green. Plecaki w tej formie i kolorze produkowano od 1991 roku do zakończenia produkcji. Worki medium wykonane w identycznej kolorystyce produkowano tylko po 1997 roku. The middle pocket is larger (approx. 20 x 25 x 8 cm) and it is has no tunnel underneath. Additionally, there are three small pockets above them, for two M16 30-round magazines each. The 2.25" webbing straps for equipment attachment were designed differently – there are three double straps on each side and two large pass-through loops. The webbing above the outer front pockets are for attaching a machete. The Large pack MUST be carried with frame. 1970s mOdIFICATIONS The first change in ALICE packs was designation system. At the turn of 1974 and 1975, the FSN (Federal Stock Number) to was replaced by NSN (National Stock Number in United States and NATO Stock Number in NATO countries), where country code was added (00 or 01 for the USA). This caused changing the FSN into the NSN 8465-00- 001-6480 for Medium pack and 8465-00-001-6481 for Large one. Another change that can be noticed in 1975-dated packs was replacement of Swedish cord-locks with US-made green Fastex ones (initially without patent identification. Information on US Patent Pending was introduced in 1976). It was a small chang, however it helps in ID'ing the earliest packs from those from 1975-1976 timeframe. Since March 1976, waterproof sacks were no longer provided with field packs. On 20 April 1976, as a result of a major change, packs without waterproof sacks were assigned new NSNs - 8465-01-019- 9102 (Medium) and 8465-01-019-9103 (Large). The field use of the early ALICE packs proved that spring-loaded buckles were quite vulnerable to damage. Deformed buckles that are difficult to be open as well as buckles with worn hinges that could just fall apart. In packs produced since 1977, buckles on the outer pockets were replaced with standard pass-through buckles as they were more exposed to damage in the field. At the same time, the spring-loaded buckle on the straps of the main compartment were preserved as they were faster to open. Further use proved, however, that the buckles of the main compartment also had to be replaced with standard ones. Buckles in Medium backpacks were changed in MIL-F-43833B specification from 5 December 1979, while buckles in Large were modified on 19 August 1980. At the same time, the webbing straps of the main compartment closure were extended and sewn at the end in a way that prevented from accidental removal of the buckle. After the specs were published, two more elements were modified. The window for a name tag was www.fragoutmag.com
