Recently, I have joined the Blackwater Reenacting Group Poland. And when it comes to MARSOC, my answer is simple: Oakley M-Frame. I had been very satisfied with them, but several years ago I replaced the plastic bullets with sharper ones. However, the need for protection stayed the same, or have even become stronger... One pair is no longer enough. Meanwhile, I tried several models tactical eyewear (at shooting ranges, I still use my M-Frames), but I looked for sunglasses because, due to "tactical" reasons, I like shooting when in motion and outdoors. I have been using the Legends for almost a year and I am definitely a "satisfied, non-problematic customer", due to four reasons. 1. The design is cool and universal, because you can wear the glasses with a suit or with casual clothing. What is important for me, the glasses also perform well when I am riding my Harley (and we all know that a Harley must be used with an open helmet, because any other will not look good with the bobber). The glasses perfectly fit to the face, which is a priceless feature in the case of a motorcycle without a windshield. It will prevent you from crying during fast rides in the wind. 2. They have some magically tinted lenses that work both in blinding light, in 30-degree heat in summer, as well as provide with clear vision in typical spring cloudiness or low position of the sun in autumn. The lenses do not distort the image during normal use or when I am aiming from a gun or a carbine that I use with an EOTech x3 magnifier. When it comes to optical properties – a divine quality. 3. They are perfectly convenient (i.e. no sensation of discomfort at all), both with active earphones and under a helmet (MSA MICH in my case). It refers to both short-term and long-term use – the profile of the frame and the material result in a really comfortable pair of glasses. Of course, I am aware that it might result from individual features and some other person's opinion could be less optimistic, but I think that I am no deviation from the rest of the society when it comes to the shape and size of the head. OK, people with larger heads (let's say 59 cm and up) will probably feel the pressure of the temples, but I strongly advise the "mutants" with huge heads to seek for different eyewear. What is peculiar, I was worried that the temple ends (you know, those slightly bent to the outside) would not be compatible with hearing protectors, but I did not experience any problems. 4. Last but not least or, to be honest, the most important thing: lenses are resistant to fogging. In spring, I happened to spend a whole day at a shooting range and on that day, I was able to experience all four seasons in just eight hours. There was some sun, rain, hail, some wind; a variable warm and cold weather. There was some running and some shooting (9-hole drills and barricades), some kneeling and lying as well… you name it and it was there. My Legends glasses did not fog up even once and have been providing me with full clarity for the whole time. When I jog (damn right, I work on my endurance) there is also no sign of fogging. When entering a building on a cold day – the same. I do not know how they managed to do that, but it works! And to think that I was skeptical when I saw the presentation of Edge eyewear. I read my article and understood that I created a paean praising the Edge Legends. But believe me, I tried to find any disadvantages and I failed. Of course, one may complain that there are no exchangeable lenses, adjustable bridge, or a hard case, but all of that would be an exaggerated grievance. Shit, you cannot even criticize the price because the glasses cost less than 80 bucks, which is a standard price for ballistic eyewear made of high-quality materials. Alright, maybe the American accent on the frame can be considered as a disadvantage for somebut, still, it is a matter of taste and we all know that there's no accounting for taste. That is a very cool pair of glasses. What is more, they have a universal style. If that is the style you like, do not even hesitate. In any case: Me gusta! www.fragoutmag.com
