I once read memoirs of a Vietnam War veteran. In October 1983, when he
was watching the news on television, he could not believe his eyes when
he saw the soldiers during Urgent Fury in Grenada – they wore strange
helmets the shape of which resembled the German helmets used during
WWII. It was shocking for him. But what is even more shocking is that it
took almost 40 years for Americans to introduce a brand-new helmet type.
