From what is it made? The base fabric for the pants is 65% polyester 35% cotton blend in rip-stop. What? The very same cheap POLYCO fabric as in the China made stuff? Not exactly, there are different polyesters, different kinds of cotton and different blends. Even lot of top hiking brands are us- ing this blend in their quite expensive clothing. Clawgear uses the better ones, so easy with it. The weight of the fabric is close to MIL-SPEC 50/50 NYCO rip-stop, it's not too thick and not too thin, basically I could call it all-year- round fabric. It's lightweight yet durable. And flexible, but without some fancy Spandex or Lycra content. Yep, they feature some mechanical stretch thanks to the way of knitting the fabric. And it works during different activi- ties. How is it made? The Enforcer Flex pants have relaxed fit, but not overly baggy, with a straight leg and articulated knees featuring internal pockets for some foam or D3O impact pads if required. Basically, kind of fit we all know from different companies. There is also a diamond-shaped gusset in crotch area, so no problems with mobility and high kicks! Straight leg has cuff with bungee adjustment with cord- lock. There is also an alloy hook to attach it to the laces of your boot, so basically you can use them as some gai- ters. Basically, the main difference between Enforcer and Defiant are the thigh pockets and their layout, but more about that below. The front closure has YKK zipper and two snaps on the microfleece lined waist. Waist is pretty wide actually. Inside there is an elastic band ended with two webbing straps used to adjust of the girth. The ends of the elastic band are secured with Velcro hook & loop. Pants have five wide belt loops (rigger rescue belts will fit them eas- ily) with the center back one wider and in Clawgear pro- prietary trapezoid shape. There are eleven pockets in Clawgear Enforcer Flex pants: Two slash hip pockets with the straight bottom edge and knife clip reinforcement. Webbing protects against abrasions and fraying from the clip. Two hidden zippered pockets for your tiny valuables inside the hip pockets. Two cargo thigh pockets with zippers in the upper edge. These are inset style pockets, so there are not sewn on the outside of the pants. This type of pockets stays closer to the leg than standard BDU-style cargo, but has limited capacity. The volume might be slightly extended because of single pleat. The zippers are slightly canted for easier closing and opening. Pocket opens to the rear and closes to the front. In the pleat, in the back of the pocket, there is a metal drainage hole. Open-top internal pocket in right thigh pocket. Could be used to keep a wallet, smarthpone, 30 round STANAG magazine, small bottle of water. During my writ- ing I found there a pretty beaten note. Two welted open-top pockets just above the back part of thigh pockets. Will fit small knife, flashlight or pis- tol magazine. The edge is reinforced with webbing. Two zippered internal rear pockets. The zippers with fabric zipper pulls are canted and covered with narrow flaps, so stay pretty invisible. Opening towards the spine. Large concealed (internal) pocket on the back of right back pocket for concealed storage of documents or credentials. Small concealed (internal) pocket just under the waist, on the left from the zipper fly. Clawgear Enforcer Flex pants features also two loops just under the lined waist, located near the adjustment tabs. They can be used to attach key lanyard, but hey, do not attach safety lanyard there! www.fragoutmag.com
