The new version did not significantly dif- fer from the previous one, but the minor tweaks were implemented. Carinthia ISG 2.0 is a hybrid created as a combination of a softshell and a down jackets merged into one. The parts of the body, the hood and the sleeves were made of a three-layer softshell laminate, while the front and the back – of thin quilted nylon with insulation fibers inside. DESIGN The jacket has an alpine, almost slim fit cut that makes it stick close to the body. It ensures high thermal comfort and (if we wear proper layers under the jacket) good transport of moisture to the top. Unfortunately, it also "highlights features" of the user, so you either do something about it or have to remember to pull in your beer belly. The softshell fabric in ISG 2.0 is smooth- faced two-way stretch 3-layer laminate with nylon (Polyamide) outerlayer and PU breathable membrane. The fabric is DWR coated for the water resistance. The soft- shell laminate is durable and resistant to pilling. The insulation "panels" are sewn in a way that forms narrow, horizon- tal compartments, thanks to which the insulation does not shift or roll up. The filament is a proprietary Carinthia G-Loft Si synthetic insula- tion (40 grams per sqm) with addi- tional aluminum foil thermal screen improving the thermal insulation. Although it is impossible to no- tice it from the outside, the lining is also present on the shoulders. The outside of the shoulders area is covered with highly-durable Schoeller Keprotec www.fragoutmag.com
