Carinthia ISG 2.0 has eight pockets in total: Ä Two chest front pockets. Quite large with interior lined with microfleece, can be used as handwarmer as well. Ä Two zippered sleeve pockets. Closed with vertical zipper. They hold even large smart- phones or other flat items of similar size. Velcro loop panels for patches or ID are on the outside. Ä Four internal pockets. The top ones have zip- pers (and can be used to store, e.g. a wallet, a cell- phone, or documents), the bottom ones are open- top. All the inner pockets were made of microfleece knitted fabric. abrasion resistant fabric, so that the jacket is well-protected against abuse. The Keprotec has very rough texture, so it also works as a stabiliz- er for pack's shoulder straps. Keprotec was also used for the zippers "garages". Carinthia ISG 2.0 is front-fastened with a 2-way waterproof zipper that goes from the bottom edge to the top of the collar. Under the zipper there is a wind flap for improved thermal insulation. Wateproof zippers were also used for the pockets (front and sleeve ones) and in the ventilation ports on the sides of the jacket. What is interesting: the main zipper and pocket zippers have plastic pull-tabs, while those in zippers of ventilation ports have taped ones. In the legacy ISG jackets, users complained about the material piling on the sides due to abrasion of the plas- tic pull-tabs, when the zippers were pressed against them. There is an elastic drawcord in the bottom, with adjustable cord-lock to keep the excess from hanging loose below the edge of the jacket. The cuffs of the sleeves are elastic and provide tight fit- ting to the arm. ISG 2.0 has a stand-up microfleece padded collar. It also includes a detachable soft- shell hood with a soft nylon lining. Hood can be worn rolled up in the collar, on the back, or it can be simply removed (it is attached to the jacket with a zipper and two snaps). The storage compartment for the hood is located in the back collar and fastened with four Velcro straps, so re- gardless the way you wear the hood, the collar will not change its shape and have any loose ele- ments. The well-adjusted hood has a profiled vi- sor, so that it will not fall on the user's eyes. It also has two drawstrings (one in the front edge and one at the height of ears), which allow accurate fitting to the user's head. www.fragoutmag.com
