placed on the hands and indices. In contrast to lumi- nescent paints, which require prior "charging" with an external lighting or battery powered illumination, LLT does not require either charging or activation. It glows constantly. The LLT on bezel is Ice Blue and 12H dial is bright orange color, on 1-11H dials are also Ice Blue, as same ashour and minute hands. The LLT on second hand is orange. Bezel is uni-directional rotating diver's type and rotates to the left. It has engraved white numbers from 5 to 55 and white dots between them. Bezel aggressively textured and easy to grip while wear- ing gloves. The crystal is not real crystal but scratch resistant anti-glare coated sapphire glass. Stainless steel screw crown improves the water resistance (up to 300 m, so basically you can dive with it, but it's not a diver's watch). To use the crown and adjust the date or time, you need to unscrew it a bit and then it pops. Master Carbon SEAL 3800 comes with genuine rub- ber strap with metal buckle, but it could be easily replaced with NATO-style webbing strap or stainless steel bracelet. LOTOS POV When for the first time I saw the Luminox Master Carbon SEAL 3800 on friend's hand, it looked huge and… shiny. My first thought? It must be totally uncomfortable, heavy and catch on everything. I was thinking, why does he need such a big timepiece? Just to check the time, from time to time? No way... Few weeks later, I was the one to receive the Luminox 3813 for review. Let me tell you what this piece of carbon mixed with glass, rubber and Swiss design is worth. It's quite angular-ish, but that was not a problem for me. It weights a bit, but it is still lighter than I expected. It's even lighter than titanium ones they say. Yeah, pretty rugged and looks durable. Carbon & Rubber – this mix sounds cool and even after few months of constant use I can honestly say, that watch is built like a little tank. The case is big, strong but quite high, so it can cause some problems with cuffs – sometimes I have to struggle when trying to reach the watch hidden under the cuff of the shirt or jacket. What's next? Sapphire glass – really strong one, absolutely no scratches after so many months. No glares and no fogging up. Readability. Ability to read the time is important in every watch. Unfortunately, black numbers on green dial does not make it any easier, but after some time you will use to it. The LLT on hands and numbers will help you. The calendar – nothing fancy, I could live without it. After time spent with the Master Carbon SEAL I got used to its subdued face but the white numbers on the bezel are just too bright for me. www.fragoutmag.com
