IWI The MILIPOL was the place of official unveiling of the latest firearms from Isreal. First was the 7.62x51 NATO TAVOR 7 bull-pup assault rifle with interchangeable barrels (17" and 20" available) due to the bull-pup configuration, the weapon's overall length can be significantly reduced without modifying the barrel length, allowing maneuverability in CQB / confined spaces and at the same time, being lethal for long ranges. TAVOR 7 is a fully ambidextrous platform; the ejection side can be swapped rapidly and easily from side to side by the user. It is comes with MIL-STD-1913 rails on all sides allowing 100% compatibility with any available sights and/or accessories. Another premiere was the 9x19 NATO MASADA pistol with polymer frame. It is marketed as first IWI's striker-fire pistol (they forgot the IMI/IWI Barak failure, huh?) with some great features. Much more than just another striker-fired pistol, the MASADA features a low profile barrel for reduced perceived recoil. Fully ambidextrous controls and enhanced ergonomics which provide a natural and instinctive pointing grip angle. Three interchangeable wrap around back-straps coupled with the deep beavertail enabling the MASADA pistol to fit a wide variety of hand sizes. The MASADA trigger has an average pull from 5.5 to 7 Lb. with a clean and crisp break and a positive reset. Featuring a built-in trigger safety, the pistol will not fire unless the trigger is pulled. The shooter's security is further enhanced during cleaning and maintenance as there is no need to pull the trigger in order to field strip the weapon. Masada's frame is made of high strength, impact resistant fiberglass reinforced polymers. www.fragoutmag.com
