parachute jumps and changed the two-point suspen- sion of the helmet into a three-point system. At the last moment, X-Small size was included for the women who were in the army (there had been almost no women serv- ing in the army before 1978, so the initial research did not take them into consideration). The helmet was approved for production on 26 July 1978 and most of the NSNs were assigned on 2 April 1980. The production launched. PRODuCTION VERSION OF THE PASGT HELMET AND ITS ELEMENTS Generally, the whole production period of the PASGT helmet should be divided into three stages. From 1980 to 1997, there were no large and import- ant changes in the construction (except for adding X-Large size). In 1997, the suspension was rede- signed while since 2005 the parts have been manu- factured in Foliage Green color. The complete PASGT helmet consists of: ● helmet shell ● suspension webbing and fixing bolts ● sweatband ● chinstrap ● cover ● elastic band Additionally, the following elements are added for parachute jumps: ● parachutist pad ● parachutist's retention strap, so called "bunny ears" The following could be attached as op- tional accessories to improve comfort or safety: ● parachutist impact liner; ● comfort pad; ● chemical protective helmet cover; ● riot control face shield. Stamp with contract data. UNICOR (Federal Prison Indu- stries) had a distinctive dark glue mark from the glue used to attach the rubber edge to the shell. Every helmet had embossed mark with size (M), form num- ber (5), manufacturing date and sometimes manufacturer's logo.
