Greece government announced the cost of the deal as 1.3 billion US dollars. According to the submission, the 125 AN/APG-83 radars (two spares), 123 MMC computers, 123 Link 16 MIDS- JTRS systems, 123 EGI/INS navigation systems and iPDG generators would be also ordered. The package should also include IFF systems, single JMPS, and F-16V simulator. The currently owned two F-16 simulators will be upgraded to F-16V standard, and the ASPIS I self-defense suite will be upgraded to ASPIS II. In 1988-2010, Greece has purchased 170 F-16C/D. 40 were Block 30, 50 Block 59, 60 Block 52, 10 Block 52+ and 30 Block 52+ Advanced. Approx. 16 were lost during the service time. This means that approx. 30 planes will not be upgraded and will be probably sold to allied countries. According to some local sources, those 30 planes might the most recent Block 52+/52+ Advanced left intentionally without upgrades. In case of Croatia procurement, we may witness an interesting competition. On the one hand, the US Government may offer latest F-16V, on the other, Greece and Israel may offer second- hand F-16C/D. The Croatia will decide about the purchase in the end of the year. Last F-16 Fighting Falcon from plant in Fort Worth, Texas will be delivered to Iraqi Air Force. It is Block 52 standard version.
