Helicopters are a crucial part of such missions, and when it comes
to CSAR, they can be engaged in crisis management operations or
rescue missions carried out in Poland.
To sum up our conversation, we can come back to the event
I spoke of at the beginning. Then, in 2006, no Polish helicopter
headed to Al-Suwaira from Al Diwaniyah in Iraq after a message
that our Mi-24 had an emergency landing was announced. Today,
with our current experience, the equipment we have, and the sys-
tem created for the last couple of years, the reaction would be in-
stant. If such a message reached the Polish Camp Echo, we would
have a CSAR team composed of at least two Mi-24s and two
W-3PLs or Mi-17 with a special forces recovery group on board
ready to act.
