What might be interesting, the pockets are made not from
single layer of Cordura fabric but from stiff laminate. They
do not collapse when empty. What should be noted, ALC
seems to be first load bearing vest where Hypalon fabric
is used.
Assault Load Carrier
The main part of the sub-system is carrying platform. It
is quite innovative design (remember, it's 2005 and we
are talking about USMC) as it is shaped more like chest
rig with full front and open back. It consists of two panels
connected with X-shaped shoulder straps and horizontal
strap on the pack. The front panels connect with ITW
Nexus GT Surface Mount 1" polymer buckles.
The X-shaped shoulder straps are padded in the neck
area where there is also a drag handle. The length of the
straps connecting the harness with front panels might
