SIG SAUER We are going to start our report from the SIG SAUER. This company became a huge player in recent years, their booth at the SHOT was probably one of the lar- gest and they even have their own Range Day. The first big thing, except the .338 Norma Magnum MG-338 heavy machine gun recently certified by USSOCOM, was the SIG CROSS precision hunting rifle chambered in .277 SIG Fury (it will be also available in .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor) developed initially for US SOCOM Advanced Sniper Rifle program. The CROSS has a one-piece receiver loosely based on AR- 15, side-folded adjustable skeleton stock, two-stage trigger and lightweight M-LOK handguard. It is fed from 5 round magazines compatible with Accuracy International AICS. CROSS can be fitted with 16" or 18" barrels. In 2019, the Suppressed Upper Receiver Group (SURG), the suppressed conversion kit for USSOCOM M4A1's was kept in the fishbowl. This year we had a chance for a closer look on this MCX upper with suppressor with a heat signature mitigation cover. SIG Sauer also presented the latest versions of their US Army Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW) submissions, the 6.8 mm Hybrid SLX SPEAR rifle (NGSW-R) and MG-68 belt-fed machine gun (NGSW-AR). In handguns category, there were multiple new va- riants of pistols presented, but the most interesting was the SIG P320 RXP in four sizes (XFull-Size, Full- Size, Compact, X-Compact) with factory mounted Romeo1Pro 6MOA micro red dot. All pistols featured higher, suppressor-ready iron sights and variants with the "X" in the name were additionally fitted with flat triggers. The P365XL is the variant of sub-compact P365 with Romeo Zero micro red dot. Since nostalgia marketing is the thing now, SIG Sauer decided to bring back the old P210 introduced in 1947! www.fragoutmag.com
