simpler solution requiring remov- ing handguard and single screw. In BREN S1 the barrel has six screws in total – four near stock adapter plate and two near gas block. For proper attachment, the 8 N/m torque wrench is required. The barrel attachment is similar to FN SCAR. Screws are also used to attach the slim handguard covers which might be replaced with ac- cessory rails. MSBS/GROT comes with light- weight aluminum alloy handguard with M-LOK slots and three ac- cessory MIL-STD-1913 rails. The BREN S1 has similar design to the SCAR where the upper receiver is monolithic with bottom rail as a separate part attached to the low- er receiver. MSBS/GROT is in this case more modular as there are M-LOK slots on the handguard on 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. BREN S1 comes only with the bottom rail as a standard. Both rifles feature monolithic top Pica- tinny rails on upper receivers, but BREN S1 rail is longer. UPPERS Both upper received are made from aircraft-grade aluminum but their shapes are different due the method of barrel attachment and the Czech BREN S1 is more similar to FN SCAR.
