The procurement program and mo- dernization of the Polish Armed For- ces constitute another important development - so many procurement contracts were signed, along with numerous press conferences held with that equipment used as a back- ground, and so many programs were launched, that finally the MoD's pro- curement team can handle what has been left in the dust for years. This will also allow the new leadership at the MoD to show off. And this is how the "Opereration KIT" initiative was born. The first mentions of the initiative co- uld have been recorded in late 2023 and early 2024, when the MoD's le- adership was mentioning it, and the same applies to the General Staff. Operation KIT is to be a broad initiati- ve aimed at modernizing the personal kit of the soldiers. One needs to note here, that the "kit" is understood here as gear ranging from socks, up to ni- ght vision goggles, and accessories for firearms, such as optics, optoelec- tronic sights, and night- and thermal imaging attachments. The plans are ambitious, to say the least. It is said that the soldiers wo- uld receive the new equipment by the end of the year. It is worth asking "Which year?". There is a ton of work to be done and the process is not a shopping cart ride in shopping mall. Looking at the undertaking realisti- cally, if the soldiers start getting new gear by the end of 2024, then we may consider this a very good start. If the process is more or less completed by the end of 2025, then we may speak of a true success. I must admit that the Polish MOD, and the General Staff approach the under- taking with a lot of enthusiasm and involvement, which is a rarity. It turns out that the MoD asked the external experts, and people outside the mi- litary structure - former soldiers, but not ones who sat behind the desk throughout the majority of their ca- reers, territorial defense troops, or even people working in industry, or ANALYSIS
