LOWA Breacher
IN USE
I got my LOWA BREACHER S MID I got about
10 months ago - to tell you the truth, at first I
was not convinced about them, even reluctant.
First impressions - rugged and heavy in ap-
pearance, with a totally different design than
Zephyrs. I finally got over myself and began
to appreciate the BREACHER. No, it's not like
that I suddenly stated "oh my, what an aweso-
me boots! I was stupid not to see this before!
From now on I will only use BREACHER!". Oh
no, I just began to appreciate their functiona-
lity, still considering Zephyrs as the boots that
meet my needs best.
Without a doubt, the BREACHER are boots that
will protect your feet and joints very well. A mul-
ti-layer sole with a fairly aggressive tread on
the outsole, a suitably stiff upper, ankle and toe
cap, and a dual-zone lacing system are what
you need in difficult terrain, which the Zephyrs
do not offer. The BREACHERs are much more
rugged, so they will also endure more, in ad-
dition to protecting the feet themselves with
better protection from damage - durable sole,
rubber heel and toe wrap-around band, less fa-
bric elements. All this makes the BREACHER
incomparably better in the field. Due to the
design of the upper, they will perform better
during rappelling.
