Now, the COA isn't replacing the
ACRO, though who knows what the
future holds? Right now, it's an ad-
dition to Aimpoint's lineup of enclo-
sed MRDS. And for now, it's exclusi-
vely paired with Glocks. Aimpoint
has hinted that a more 'universal'
version, ready to mount on other fi-
rearms, is in the pipeline.
It'll be interesting to see how they
solve the mounting for other guns.
It's hard to imagine Aimpoint rele-
asing an optic that requires a speci-
fic slide cut for every firearm out the-
re. More likely, we'll see some kind of
adapter plate system. But that's just
speculation for now, so it's tough to
say exactly how they'll pull it off and
whether it will maintain that super
stable feel that the Glock-mounted
COA boasts.
