German FFG is well-known for development of Wisent and Wisent 2 armored engineer vehicles/armored recovery vehicles. The on-board systems were replaced with automatic ones. Combat recovery equipment enables the recovery and towing of equipment under armored protection, without exposing crew to threats outside. 57-tonnes Wisent 2 has a crane for loads up to 32 tons and a 40 ton main winch with 160 meters of line (33mm in diameter). There is also additional 3 ton winch. In AEV variant it might be fitted with a hinged arm excavator for moving up to 300 cubic meters of earth per hour, and a special high-performance dozer blade. Changing from AEV to ARV variant takes about 5 hours. 95% of parts are interchangeable to maintain low costs of service. The first batch of Boxer will be delivered for Lithuania in 2017 and the rest from total of 84 vehicles (including four in C4I version) should be delivered in three years. Patria and BAE Systems joint-venture 8x8 AMV35 IFV with E35 turret and 35mm ATK Bushmaster II automatic cannon developed for Australian Land 400 program where 225 combat reconnaissance vehicles are being sought. AMV35 is based around reinforced carria- ge of well-known Patria AMV which allows for 30 tonnes of complete weight (32 t as an option).
