Rheinmetall Leopard 2 MBT Advanced Technology Demonstrator. Tank is covered with Active Defence System panels with ROSY launchers. It has a wide array of observation devices, command support system, programmable ammunition, auxiliary power unit and modular weapon station. The Rheinmetall company announced a concept of "digital turret" to highlight the amount of upgrades and integration of all systems on board. Leopard 2A7 main battle tank in the foreground. German Bundeswehr ordered twenty 2A7 tanks built from 2A6. The modernization plan includes upgrade of 328 tanks (269 in operational units) to Leopard 2A7 standard. Main features of the new variant are: complete integration with the IFIS combat management and information system, PERI R17A3 sight with ATTICA thermal imaging device, new communication systems, programmable ammunition and auxiliary power unit. The Boxer AFV visible in the background used as 155mm howitzer carrier with 360-degree field of fire and maximum range from 35 to 56 km (depending on the ammunition).
