L uckily for the people who look for decent sight with affordable price tag there are manufacturers which offer such optics. One of them is Vortex Optics with their reasonably priced Spitfire 3x Prism Scope red dot sight with 3-power magnification, designated for shooting at close and medium ranges. BUILD Optics that consists of prism and lens with multilay- ered anti-reflective coating are enclosed in monolith- ic black-anodized aluminum tube. Outside the tube there are knobs for reticle adjustment secured with metal caps and one knob for regulating reticle back- light. Between knobs and lens, at 45 degrees offset, there were placed short MIL-STD-1913 rails for mi- cro red dots. Ocular lens and objective lens are se- cured with flaps. Tube inside is purged with nitrogen, what in combination with good seal has to guarantee resistance to lens getting fogged. Spitfire 3x Prism Scope is delivered with MIL-STD-1913 mount. Comes mounted at a lower 1/3 co-witness height of 40.4 mm from the optic center to base surface. Remove the mount riser if a lower 30 mm mounted height is desired.
