To sum up. At the beginning we had a huge distance to P99AS, caused by previous experiences and opinions about this weapon as potentially dangerous. Now that distance dis- appeared. We are not blind fans of that weapon in one night, but we can say that this is pretty cool handgun. We fired cou- ple of hundreds rounds (probably over a 1,000) and it is not in any way reliable test of durability, more like impressions after longer, not over intense use. Weapon works, shoots accurate, we have no malfunctions and any other technical problems. Our morale is raised by steel back plate, so if there would be accident similar to most famous Polish case there is chance that plate will stay in place and firing pin will remain inside the slide. Except that, shooting from P99 is nice and accurate, de- spite the grip that is not that bad, but not that ergonomic ei- ther. If someone shoots SFP9, the "transition" to P99 will be basically natural and if someone used handgun with magazine release button rather that lever, he will have to learn something new. We are declared fans of Glocks and SFP9 (and few other models) so by default we recognize those as better ones for us, what does not interfere with taking lot of real fun shooting from P99. FIREARMS
