Hellpup shoots every kind of ammo. Generally, it EATS every 7.62 mm x 39 rounds regardless of the man- ufacturer. If there are misfires they come from faulty ammunition and never from rifle itself. Turns out that it also fires different calibers. In the heat of one of the courses, one student mistook the ammunition and loaded single .223 round to the magazine (somewhere in between the 7.62). Was it a problem? Not for Hellpup. It fired like firecracker, the case expanded in the chamber and break alongside, so we had to use ramrod and a hammer to clear it. After that Hellpup was fed only with proper ammunition and worked flawlessly. Magpul ZHUKOV-S® side-folded stock. Here we had to use a hammer again! Original polymer stock sits very tightly so you need a lot of force to take it out. Mounting of the Magpul stock went without any problems, everything is fit very nicely. About how much it changed comfort of shooting from Hellpup or its conve- nience (especially in transporting) we don't need to write much – ev- eryone can guess. Lastly, Zhukov is from 21st century and original stock as old as AK with plastic stock. Here it is, closer to line of bore, plus its length can be adjusted. ALG Defence AKT Trigger – Basi- cally, the very same Bill Geissele's that makes one of best in triggers for AR, did it for AK. Installation re- quires a little bit of practice, above all it has to be adjusted to your rifle. To do so, special roll-pin is required. Except that, mounting the spring that blocks the pins is not an easy thing and can raise your blood pres- sure. Despite all that – it is worth to change the trigger because then Hellpup becomes different rifle! Muzzle device or compensator. – It was done just to change some- thing. Eventually we plan to mount diffuser that directs gases straight forward. It is necessity having short barrel like that, because it is OK when we shoot alone, but when on the shooting positions next to us other shooters are firing, they will stop to like us. Shockwave and high noise are very strong and its influence on other people is not comfortable. Speaking frankly, even shooter that uses Hellpup feels that he is firing. www.fragoutmag.com
