between 1st and TLBV was main replaced with Slanted magazine pockets for easier and faster reloads. The main panel and design of the back part remained same. The only difference were two layers of nylon mesh instead of single layer of fabric on the back panel. the female parts of the buckles and the male parts are attached to adjustable straps sewn in the middle of the pack. Outside main compartment there are three rows of 2-1/4 webbing for ALICE parts attachment. They all feature eyelets for M1910 parts, which might seem to be obsolete, but it is still used in machete sheaths and the M7 bayonets had also M1910 hook attachment. To stabilize the machete there are two loops from 1" webbing added. There are three external pockets sewn directly to the pack. Each of them has drawstring plus flap closure and features the drainage hole in the bottom. The flap does not have a standard buckle closure but the loop from 1" webbing. The buckle with horizontal webbing around the pockets is routed through the loop. Right side pocket is approx. 6.5 liter and has additional horizontal webbing strap on the bottom as stabilizer. On the left there are two smaller pockets (3.7 liters each). It should be noted, that the bottom OD Cordura reinforcement of the pack is not sewn to the sides of the pack, creating an open-top flat pockets with drainage holes. On the sides there are compression on the sides, which can be also used to attach sleeping mat or similar items. FPLIF has sophisticated and comfortable suspension system with internal frame. This was a huge leap compared to ALICE packs. The Paralux frame consist of two 1" pre-curved aluminum stays with the plastic cover on top for easy insertion into the webbing tunnels. Stays are unfinished and raw aluminum color, which has no negative effect as they are barely visible through the webbing. The almost full-length vertical 2" CG483 webbing straps with folded bottoms are tunnels for frame stays. These vertical straps have three approx. 3" straps to stabilize the stay. The top part of tunnel has flap closure with snap. This solution allows to attach the lumber pad and waistbelt to frame stays. Waist belt is almost 12 cm wide and 70 cm long and narrows towards the ends. It is padded with foam. Outer shell is Woodland camouflage Cordura, the inner side is thicker OG Cordura as on the bottom of the pack. The 2-1/4 webbing strap with adjustable buckle is sewn to the belt.
