ambidextrous, and its ejection port is only on the right. MSBS/GROT has two ports and the one which is not in use might be closed with plug. On the rear of the ports, the rifles have case deflectors at- tached with screws. Rifles comes with side charging handle. BREN S1 has reciprocating charging handle which might be installed on either side. MSBS/GROT has ambidextrous non-reciprocating charging handle. LOWERS Recoil spring assemblies are similar in both GROT and BREN S1. The only difference is the stock adapter plate as in GROT is con- nects upper and lower receivers and it has a push button to release the receivers. Polymer lower re- ceivers are significantly different. BREN S1 lower receiver has fixed pistol grip and again re- sembles the one found in the FN SCAR. The side straps of the grip are interchangeable but only one strap size is included with rifle. The magazine well is a separate part and might be detached from the lower receiver. The rifles from EU distribution were assembled with magazine well for proprietary magazines (similar to G36 ones) and the rifles for US market were assembled with STANAG maga- zine well with side release button.
