the rifle lacked the bolt release le- ver. To reload a rifle, it is required to pull back and release the charging handle. The lever on the left side of magazine well locks the bolt in the rear position for maintenance. Rifle has standard safety switch located above the pistol grip with 30 degree throw. The trigger group is proprietary to BREN S1. Lower and uppers are connected with two takedown pins in front and rear. The stock is attached to the rear plate. MSBS/GROT has design similar to AR-15 rifles and the pistol grip is detachable. The magazine re- lease, bolt catch (located between trigger guard and magazine well) and safety switch are ambidex- trous. Current S16 FB-M1 comes with proprietary trigger group, but the future FB-M2 will be AR com- patible. The magazine well is not compatible with Magpul PMAG M3 magazines. Upper and lower receivers in GROT are connected with front takedown pin and the stock adapt- er plater locked in the rear spring assembly. INTERNALS BREN S1 bolt carrier group is similar in shape to the SCAR one, only exception are shorter front and longer rear. It is also more complicated and has more parts.
