BREN S1 BCG consists of charging
handle, bolt, bolt carrier, cam pin,
firing pin with spring, spring sleeve,
firing pin locking pin and firing pin
lock with spring. GROT BCG has
bolt, bolt carrier, cam pin, firing pin
and firing pin lock. In the BREN S1
manual, the manufacturer discour-
ages to disassemble the bolt car-
rier group even for maintenances
(most probably due the possibility
of losing tiny parts like two-part
firing pin spring sleeve. To disas-
semble the BREN S1, one needs
to use the hammer to remove the
firing pin lock pin which is firmly
placed in the bolt carrier. In GROT,
this pin might be removed even
with bullet tip. The BREN S1's bolt
has only one placement and the
GROT ones might be rotated 180
degrees to change direction of
cases ejection.
STOCKS
Initially, the BREN S1 had side
folded non-adjustable polymer
stock. In the example in the pic-
tures, there is side folded stock
with five positions and adjustable
cheek piece, which was later a
standard, before the BREN S1 was
discontinued. There was also an
aftermarket Magpul ACR stock
adapter available.
GROT has side folded adjustable
stock with five positions, adjust-
able cheek piece and rubber butt
plate. In 2020 the AR-style stock
adapter will be available as well.
