Thanks to the cooperation esta- blished by and between the Polish Works 11 and the Norwegian-Ameri- can Teledyne FLIR, the extensive of- fer including deliveries and mainte- nance of the new nano-class Black Hornet 3 Personal Reconnaissance System is yet again available on the Polish market. The Black Hor- net PRS is still the most compact solution on the market, that offers short-distance aerial reconnaissan- ce capabilities. Furthermore, Works 11 is the sole business in Poland that has an experienced instructor cadre at its disposal. That makes it possible to offer a broad training program and specialist support for system maintenance. "To see" in military dictionaries me- ans: to assess, to predict, to prevent, to tailor [the reaction], and to act. That was the original idea behind the individual device that remains sim- ple to use, and that does not require airspace coordination. It has been designed for use by small teams, sections, or squads. The PD-100 Black Hornet was the first variant of the system. Work on that solution was launched in 2008, by a Norwegian Prox Dynamics com- pany, which was then taken over by FLIR (Now: Teledyne FLIR). In 2012 the system's series manufacturing has been launched. The first variant has been proven in combat by the British Army in Afghanistan. More, modified UAVs as such, including the Black Hornet 3 variant, are used across multiple operational theatres and in police operations, where they prove their worth well. The BH3 is cu- rrently operated by the Armed Forces and uniformed services of several states, including the United States, the UK, Germany, Australia, Norway, France, and Spain. Back in 2019, the Polish Armed Forces procured seve- ral Black Hornet sets for the Special Operations Forces. www.fragoutmag.com
