T
here is probably no one
that hasn't heard about
MSBS/GROT C16 FB-A1
(previously M1) "flying re-
gulators". This element of MSBS/
GROT gas block system was suppo-
sed to be most problematic – let's
just leave for a moment considera-
tions about how much problem that
caused, how many actual "fallen
out and lost" regulators and pistons
were there, whether they just fell off
"like that" or because some other
reason and focus on the mere fact
that both custodian and manufac-
turer spot that problem and decided
to fix it. Second generation of GROT
(technically third – counting from
early A0 version) was made, where
the gas block was redesigned and
the front rail was extended to cover
the gas block. Those changes cau-
sed the number of incidents with
"gas regulator in the background" to
decrease – according to data provi-
ded by WOT (Territorial Defense FOr-
ces) by 95% and currently they are
basically no existing.
Now, there is GROT A2 that was in-
troduced to the military at a point
in time where it was already using
dozens of thousands of A1 rifles –
