BREACHER's sole is multi-layered. The outer sole is Vibram Vanguard with its dual-density midsole made of PU long-lasting comfort in the partic ularly stressed forefoot and heel areas and still provides the right support in the arch of the foot at the same time. The abrasion-resistant outsole is very slip-resistant, heat-resistant and fuel-resistant thanks to its innovative tread de- sign in combination with a special rubber com- pound. The midsole is made from Polyurethane (PU), a soft plastic that has very good cush ioning prop erties and is usually used in the midsole as a result. Through the use of PU, the soles be- come light weight and func tionally flexible. The three-component insole (90% PU, 9% polyamide and 1% carbon fiber) is responsible for com- fort, shock absorption, stability and additional protection against rocks and stones In uneven terrain. The boots comes with an exchange- able footbed for optimal indi vidual adjustment and, in combination with the orthopedic insoles ErgoPad® work:x and ErgoPad® work:h+ from BAUER FEIND®, is certified and approved for use as occu pa tional footwear. The lining of the BREACHER uppers is made of a 3D fabric for improved comfort and air circula- tion. The heel counter is made of a durable ma- terial that resembles leather, which significantly increases the durability of the element that was the fastest to wear out, especially when the shoe was not properly fitted and tied. Thanks to the two-zone lacing system used in the BREACHER MID, the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the boot can be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced in different ways for ascents and descents. The ends of the laces might be stowed inside the pocket in the tongue. Boot is equipped with lacing hooks with a closed design to minimize snag hazard. Boots are factory waterproofed with durable coating (even the non-GORE-TEX versions).
