Feature picked up by the owners and supporters of AK's is ab- sence of malfunctions - AR-15 assault rifles got the opinion of more unreliable and jamming. Is that really true? I think that this belief is little to strain or relates to beginnings of the AR-15 and was rooted in the shooting society through the years. Present technology of weapons and ammunition manufac- turing is so developed that good quality rifles, shooting quali- ty ammunition are practically failure-free. So where this belief of AR-15 assault rifle failureness does came from? In this article I am going to approach on each mal- function that is present in this type of rifle, describe its cause and show how to f I x them. simple, where instantaneous ac- tion is able to fIx the pro- blem and allow to fIre; complex, that require more complicated action, but understanding me- chanics of the weapon, and knowing procedures, we are able without addition- al tools to restore weap- on to fully functional. Catastrophically malfunctions, so in the simple terms, those in case of which we need tools, parts or both in order to repair the weapon. Most of the time these are mechanically damaged parts. We are not going to sacrifice any more time for that type of malfunctions. of But before however we go straight to the core, remember- don't try this at home. As part of courses conducted by me in the IKEM SHOOTING DIVISION, the stu- dents have the possibility, in the safe conditions and under supervision, to famil- iarize with each malfunction type that I write about, and fIx all of them. Some- times, process is complicated and you have to be very careful. Malfunction, jam – means interruption in properly functioning of the firearms. Commonly we think about jams that after squeez- ing the trigger instead of hearing "bang" we hear me- tallic "click" or we feel, that the trigger is moving insignificantly and we hear nothing. In order to fifIx most of the malfunctions you just have to completely un- load and again load the weapon - that's the gener- al rule that we are going to apply in the process of fIxing the weapon.
