Stretch-knit cuffs have one disadvantage – they are close fitting, which is cool, but if you wear a watch and I suppose you do, just forget that you will able to check the time. Especially while wearing big tacticool watches like Casio G-Shock, Suunto or Luminox – the- re is no way, especially in gloves. And a bigger nope while wearing it as a midlayer. Pockets – they do their job but they are not made for heavy objects. I put my phone into inner pocket be- cause in the outer, despite cord hole, it rocks as hell (iPhone 5S in Magpul case). Usually, I use Atom as an standalone garment but when I use it as midlay- er I also wear lightweight softshells on top (Helikon Trooper, ORC PCU L5, ECWCS GEN3 L5), heavyweight softshells (something from Polartec with integrated insulation, outdoor Arc'teryx Gamma Hoody MX, NFM GARM Softshell), hardshells (ECWCS GEN3 L6, USMC Lightweight Exposure Suit or Combat Desert Jacket) or smock style like NFM Combat Jacket. And it works great in that role. To end my writing – my favourite jacket, recently "fighting" with Patagonia PCU L3A. CLOTHING
