Little digression here – locking bolt carrier to the rear. In the classic AR-15 the easiest way to do this is holding magazine well in left hand, and blocking bolt catch by out thumb at the same time puling charging handle by our right hand. Nowadays, we have tons of different weapon accessories and gadgets, it is popular to use for example Magpul Bat- tery Assist Device (B.A.D.) LEVER®. If we take advantage of that lever, it just needs our index finger (that one from the trigger) to move up during pull the charging handle by out left hand. That little, inconspicuous element, significantly speeds up our locking bolt carrier to the rear pro- cedure, and does not require to change our hands to do it. I am big fan of B.A.D and I'm using it in that manner. 1.2. FIX By the book, we act the same as with the simple malfunctions, we grab the magazine (push - pull) and reload the weapon. In this very mo- ment we get the information: „weap- on cannot be reloaded" what mean for us more complicated jam. We pull the bolt carrier to the rear and block it in that position, we take out the magazine and reload again (until we hear metallic sound of bolt carrier hitting the front of the barrel extension), after two, there reloads we cannot hear that sound, it is appropriate to lock the bolt carrier to the rear again, put fingers into the magazine well, push out jammed rounds and reload once again. When we hear the sound of bolt carrier hitting the barrel ex- tension, we insert fresh magazine (old one probably was the source of malfunction), reload and weapon is ready to fi fIre. 1. Double feed two rounds or rounds and empty casing simultane- ously are partially inserted to the chamber. 1.1. Problem Most common malfunction double feed type is jamming two rounds, and it is caused by failed or damaged magazine. Feed lips of the magazine are bend out (aluminum) or cracked (plastic), what causes stripping two rounds at once. Sometimes happen that jam occurs with a round and empty casing – here the cause may by damaged ejector. RACK TRAINING
